CHICAGO -- Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews returned to the lineup Monday against the Los Angeles Kings after missing the last six games with apparent concussion-like symptoms.

Ben Eager also was back after missing the last 13 games with the same injury. Joel Quenneville said there are no restrictions on either player.

"It was depressing [sitting out], and especially frustrating because it feels like it's something that you can easily play through, but you have to give it a little more time even when you feel like its time to play," Toews said. "I'm ready now."

Toews' return is important for Chicago because the future of another center is in doubt. Quenneville said there was "no progress" with Dave Bolland as he continues to nurse the back problem that has kept him off the ice since last Thursday's game against Phoenix.

Kris Versteeg will take his place for the second consecutive game.
