SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Wolves left wing Brett Sterling scored with 5:43 remaining in the game on Friday to help give Chicago a 4-2 win over the San Antonio Rampage at AT&T Center.

After Rampage center Joel Perrault tied the game late in the third period, Wolves forward Johnny Pohl dished the puck out to a streaking Sterling.

Sterling's initial shot was stopped by Rampage goaltender Al Montoya, but right wing Spencer Machacek picked up the rebound. After Machacek's shot was stopped, Sterling was able to put the puck in the back of the net for Chicago (6-7-0-1).

The Wolves opened the scoring in the second period when defenseman Steve McCarthy took a pass from center Jason Krog and put it past Montoya. San Antonio (6-7-2-1) tied the game at 11:06 in the second period when left wing Mikkel Boedker scored after taking a pass from center Kevin Porter.

Pohl gave Chicago back the lead with 2:19 left in the second when he picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone and scored on the breakaway.

Perrault shot the puck past Chicago goaltender Drew MacIntyre at 5:02 of the third period to tie the game again.

Wolves center Kevin Doell scored an empty-net shorthanded goal with 21 seconds left to close it out.
