CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks winger Andrew Ladd left Game 4 of the Western Conference finals between the Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks with an undisclosed injury after playing just 2:14 in the opening period.

He was not on the bench for the start of the second period.

Duncan Keith also left the game midway through the second period after getting hit with a puck in the face on a clearing attempt. It happened on a Hawks' power play near the Sharks' blue line. Keith immediately went to the bench and on the resulting play, Patrick Marleau scored a short-handed goal. Keith returned to the ice late in the second period.

Marian Hossa replaced Ladd on a line with Dave Bolland and Kris Versteeg for the line's opening shift of the second period.

The Blackhawks beat the Sharks 4-2 to sweep the series and advance to the Stanley Cup finals.
