The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned forward Jeremy Morin to Rockford of the AHL.

Morin played two games with the Hawks over the weekend before being sent down to the minors. He registered four shots on net and two blocked shots. One of those blocks on Saturday against the Atlanta Thrashers took Morin out of the game with an apparent right leg injury, but he returned on Sunday to face the Edmonton Oilers.

It's unclear if Morin's demotion is a signal that center Dave Bolland is ready to return from an upper body injury or if it was a cost saving move by the Hawks. Morin could be recalled on Wednesday when the Hawks host the Phoenix Coyotes.
