COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus All-Star forward Rick Nash will miss his second straight game Friday when the Blue Jackets take on the Chicago Blackhawks at Nationwide Arena.

Columbus goalie Steve Mason also will miss the game after getting injured in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Washington. Mathieu Garon will start for Columbus.

Both players have lower-body injuries.

The Blackhawks will be without Patrick Sharp (knee) and Dave Bolland (concussion).

Coach Joel Quenneville said he was cautiously optimistic Bolland could return for the playoffs but said progress was "slow" and could not declare a timetable.

Sharp is scheduled to start skating early next week.
