VANCOUVER -- Chicago Blackhawks forward Troy Brouwer played in the team's opening game of the Western Conference quarterfinal matchup with the Vancouver Canucks.

Brouwer isn't 100 percent but declared himself ready to go after suffering a right shoulder injury late in the year. He missed the final three games of the regular season.

Injured center Dave Bolland remained out as he recovers from a concussion. Quenenville is still hopeful Bolland will play later in the series. Quenneville would not announce who Brouwer was replacing in the lineup for Wednesday night's game.

The Hawks and Canucks face each other for the third consecutive postseason, with the Hawks winning the previous two series. It's the first time in modern NHL history the defending Stanley Cup champions will take on the President's Trophy winner in the opening round of the playoffs.
