This has been a dynamic year for running backs, but it is hard to believe Florida State's Dalvin Cook missed the cut as a Doak Walker Award finalist. Cook has rushed for 1,475 yards and 16 touchdowns despite missing one game and most of another with hamstring and ankle injuries; he leads the nation with 18 runs 20 yards or longer; and he averages 7.6 yards per carry against FBS teams, better than finalists Derrick Henry, Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey.

Heisman Watch: Derrick Henry still No. 1

The Alabama RB remains a firm No. 1 in this week's Heisman Watch but a shake-up behind him has Clemson QB Deshaun Watson as a new No. 2. The top 10

Christian McCaffrey shared a story about Stanford QB Kevin Hogan, who's been nicknamed "the Dark Knight" by his teammates. This comes from the aftermath of the Cardinal's season-opening loss to Northwestern, and McCaffrey credits Hogan's words for helping turn the team's poor start into a Pac-12 North title.
