Stars' Richards has torn labrum repaired

Center Brad Richards, who led the Dallas Stars with 91 points this season, will resume offseason training in five weeks after having arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip.

Richards, who is rehabbing in New York, said he'll return to his full offseason program in 8 to 10 weeks.

The surgery was performed to ease some pain he felt in the hip during the season and to take care "of some maintenance" to guard against the injury turning into anything more troublesome.
