Third-string Cowboys quarterback wants to be ready when his time comes

IRVING, Texas -- Tony Romo played a total of 12 games over three years without throwing a single pass until Bill Parcells had seen enough of Drew Bledsoe to make a change.

Jon Kitna started six games in his first two seasons in Seattle before becoming a full-time quarterback in 1999.

While some quarterbacks ascend to the throne early in their careers, it takes others some time. This brings us to Stephen McGee, the Dallas Cowboys' third-string quarterback.
