Adrian Beltre singles in spring debut

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Adrian Beltre passed his first test with the Texas Rangers.

Beltre made it through a Cactus League game with no problems Monday, playing five innings in a 5-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. His spring debut was delayed due to a Grade I calf strain suffered days before camp opened.

Beltre, who was the Rangers' prized offseason acquisition, played third base and batted cleanup. He went 1-for-3 with a single to shallow left-center field. He did not have ...
