Rangers pick up RHP Manny Delcarmen

The Texas Rangers, continuing their search for relief help, have signed right-handed pitcher Manny Delcarmen to a minor league deal and assigned him to Triple-A Round Rock.

Delcarmen, 29, asked for and was granted his release by the Seattle Mariners on May 31 after going 2-2 with a 5.14 ERA in 18 games for Triple-A Tacoma. That condition was part of his contract signed in February.

He was a second-round pick by the Boston Red Sox in 2000 and was 11-6 with a 3.89 ERA and three saves ...
