Byron Nelson adds top names to field

Matt Kuchar, Jamie Lovemark and Scott Verplank have committed to play in the HP Byron Nelson Championship during Memorial Day weekend.

Kuchar gives the tournament a highly ranked player (ninth on the Official World Golf Rankings). He is 11th in the FedEx Cup standings, finished third in the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship earlier this season and has three PGA Tour victories.

Lovemark was the youngest player ever to win the money title on the Nationwide Tour, doing so last year at age 22. Now, he's looking for a breakthrough win on the PGA Tour; his best showing on the big tour was a tie for second at the Frys.com Open in 2009.

Verplank, who played high school golf in Dallas, said his 2007 win at the Nelson was one of the most meaningful of his career. He has five PGA wins and had five top-10 finishes last year.

The HP Byron Nelson Championship again will be played at TPC Four Seasons Resort & Club in Las Colinas.
