Holland, who tweaked the knee during shuttle drills as part of an agility workout on Saturday morning, had an MRI on Monday and received the results Tuesday morning.
"The wait was the worst part," Holland said. "I didn't think it was serious, but the longer you wait, the more other thoughts get in your head."
Holland, 23, is a candidate for the No. 5 spot in the Rangers' rotation. He was 8-13 with a 6.02 ERA in 33 games (21 of them starts) in 2009, his rookie season.
Holland said he will take it easy on the knee and it has not been decided when he will resume his throwing program.
