ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers slugger Nelson Cruz will run the bases and work out one more time before heading to a rehabilitation assignment.

Cruz, on the disabled list since April 27 because of a strained right hamstring, ran the bases and took batting practice again Friday. He says he feels 100 percent.

He will take a break Saturday and if all goes well when he works out again Sunday in Arlington, Cruz will go to Double-A Frisco for two games Monday and Tuesday. He is eligible to be activated from the 15-day DL on Wednesday.

Cruz, an All-Star who hit 33 home runs in his full major league season last year, was hitting .328 with seven home runs and 17 RBIs in 19 games before going on the DL.
