ARLINGTON, Texas -- First baseman Ryan Garko has cleared waivers and been outrighted by the Texas Rangers to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Rangers had optioned Garko to the minors Friday when they activated All-Star slugger Nelson Cruz from the disabled list. Garko was removed from the Rangers' 40-man roster Tuesday after clearing waivers.

Garko, acquired on a waiver claim from Seattle at the end of spring training, hit .091 in 15 games for the Rangers. All three of his hits were singles.
