ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler is headed to Frisco on a rehab assignment starting Saturday and is expected to play around four games for the Double-A affiliate.

Barring setbacks, Kinsler should join the Rangers in time for Texas' series at Minnesota next weekend.
Kinsler, who was placed on the 15-day DL on July 29 with a left groin strain, said he has tried batting practice and cutting on the basepaths and feels good, adding that he will would test himself again Friday.
The All-Star second baseman is batting .298 with six home runs and 38 RBIs in 76 games for the Rangers this season. He started the season on the disabled list.
