ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington says he hasn't had any conversations with Cliff Lee about the possibility of the ace left-hander pitching Game 4 on short rest.

When asked about it before Game 3 on Saturday, Washington said Tommy Hunter is pitching Sunday as scheduled against the San Francisco Giants. Lee is scheduled to start Monday night in Game 5, if necessary.

"We haven't had any discussions with Cliff," Washington said Saturday about starting him on short rest. "Tommy Hunter is scheduled to pitch [Sunday]."

Lee, who has never pitched on three days' rest, lost a postseason game for the first time when he lasted only 4 2/3 innings in Game 1 on Wednesday. The Rangers lost Game 2 to fall to 0-2 in the best-of-seven series.
