The Rangers traded right-handed pitcher Guillermo Moscoso to the Oakland A's for minor-league right-hander Ryan Kelly on Saturday.

Moscoso was designated for assignment Friday to make room for newly-acquired Adrian Beltre on the 40-man roster.

Kelly, 23, pitched for the Class A Burlington Bees in 2010 and was 2-3 with a 4.20 ERA in 75 innings as a reliever. He had 75 strikeouts and 14 walks, and opponents hit .253 against him. Kelly, who is not on the Rangers' 40-man roster, was a 26th-round selection by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2006.

Moscoso has a 4.30 ERA over 11 relief appearances in his major league career the past two seasons, all with Texas. He spent last season at Triple-A Oklahoma City, going 7-7 with a 5.18 ERA, primarily as a starter.
