The reigning American League MVP was diagnosed Monday and checked into the Medical Center of Arlington on Tuesday. He spent nearly a week there so he could get "complete rest and accelerate his full recovery," according to a release from the Rangers.
Hamilton, who hit .359 with 32 home runs and 100 RBIs last season, is expected to resume his conditioning in preparation for spring training in the next few days.
