Dampier returns to Mavericks' lineup
Dampier was rushed to a Michigan hospital in an ambulance after feeling symptoms while warming up for the Mavericks' Nov. 15 game against the Detroit Pistons. He stayed in the hospital overnight, although the symptoms subsided that night, and returned to Dallas for a series of medical tests.
Dampier has declined to discuss the nature of his medical condition.
"We ran every test known to man and had the best doctors do what they needed to do," Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said. "They passed him."
Dampier was off to an outstanding start before becoming ill. He averaged 7.6 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in the Mavericks' first eight games.
"It's been a couple of weeks now, but he's an important part of our team," coach Rick Carlisle said. "We've got to get him re-integrated."
