DALLAS -- Dallas Mavericks forwards Josh Howard and Drew Gooden were out with injuries Saturday night against the Utah Jazz.
Howard sustained a left thigh contusion in Friday night's 112-103 victory at San Antonio. Gooden sprained his right ring finger in that game and needed four stitches to close a cut on his chin.
Howard was among the inactives. Gooden was listed as active, but the Mavericks said he'd be withheld from the game.
Both players are day to day.
