NEW YORK -- Jason Kidd missed the Dallas Mavericks' franchise-record 128-78 rout of the New York Knicks on Sunday for personal reasons.

The Mavericks said Kidd returned to Dallas after their loss in Philadelphia on Friday night.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said it was a family matter. Kidd is expected to play Tuesday when the Mavs return home to host Milwaukee.

Dallas was also without another starter, center Erick Dampier (left knee). Knicks reserve Nate Robinson did not dress because of a strained right hamstring.
