Carlisle fainted during Friday's practice and didn't join the Mavericks for their trip to Indian Wells, Calif. for a preseason game against the Phoenix Suns. A series of medical tests taken after the 50-year-old Carlisle was taken from the American Airlines Center by ambulance indicated that he had no significant health concerns.
"I was just a little dehydrated and got a little lightheaded," Carlisle said. "According to a bunch of people who have contacted me the last three days, fainting happens more frequently than you think. Time to move on."
Carlisle joked that the biggest problem he had to deal with due to his fainting incident was the wrath of his 6-year-old daughter, Abby, who was upset that her Friday play date with a friend was cancelled.
Other than that, Carlisle relaxed for a couple of days before getting back to work.
"It was good having a weekend off," Carlisle said. "It was unexpected."
