DENTON, Texas -- North Texas coach Todd Dodge said quarterback Riley Dodge's high ankle sprain was improving and that he should be ready for Saturday's game against Western Kentucky.

Dodge, the coach's son, has dealt with ankle problems nearly all season, but he could not play last week. He was practicing Tuesday and is expected to practice the rest of the week.

"I wanted to see if he could scramble and make cuts and it looks like he can," Todd Dodge said. "He should be fine."

The news isn't as good for senior linebacker Tobe Nwigwe, who is out for the season with a foot injury. He's expected to have surgery Thursday.
