HSG picks Quinn to head FC Dallas

FRISCO, Texas -- Hunt Sports Group chairman Clark Hunt named Douglas Quinn president and chief executive officer of FC Dallas on Monday.

Quinn, who begins his tenure Aug. 2, joins FC Dallas after six years as president of Soccer United Marketing, MLS' marketing arm. His experience includes 14 years in senior marketing and sales positions with the NFL.

"We are thrilled to welcome Doug to FC Dallas, and look forward to his leadership of the club for many years to come," Hunt said. "As one of the top executives in professional sports, I am confident that Doug will make FC Dallas the premier club in MLS for our fans and enhance Pizza Hut Park's standing as one of the elite entertainment venues in the country."

While at SUM, Quinn secured several key sponsorship deals and was a member of the team that secured long-term national television agreements for MLS. Most recently, he managed the creation of SuperLiga, the professional tournament between MLS and Mexico's First Division clubs that began in July 2007.

"The Hunt family's commitment to soccer in the United States paved the way for the success of MLS, and I look forward to building a world-class, championship club for our supporters."

Quinn, 47, earned bachelor's degrees in marketing and English from SMU and an MBA concentrating in international business and finance from the University of Texas.
