Cowboys 2010 Predictions
2010 Predictions: Tim MacMahon and Calvin Watkins break down the Cowboys' 2010 season
Sun., Sept. 12, 7:20 p.m. -- Cowboys at Redskins (NBC)
Tim MacMahon: The opener won't be pretty, but the Cowboys will find a way to win at FedEx Field again. Mike Shanahan needs more than Donovan McNabb to make the Redskins a real threat in the NFC East.
Calvin Watkins: David Buehler makes the game winner from 47 yards. It's his first winning FG as a pro, and the decision to let Nick Folk go makes Jerry Jones look good.
Sun., Sept. 19, noon -- Bears at Cowboys (Fox)
Tim MacMahon: The Cowboys fans who wanted Tony Romo traded for Jay Cutler will feel foolish. Cutler, as he is prone to do, will make a few critical mistakes under pressure from DeMarcus Ware and Co.
Calvin Watkins: Jay Cutler throws three interceptions, Tony Romo throws two touchdown passes, but Roy Williams, yes, Roy Williams, is the hero. He catches two TDs.
Sun., Sept. 26, noon -- Cowboys at Texans (Fox)
Tim MacMahon: Andre Johnson, who is on his way to becoming the best receiver ever to cash paychecks in Texas, will give the Cowboys problems. But Miles Austin will expose the holes in the Houston secondary.
Calvin Watkins: The Texans' Super Bowl is a wild one. Andre Johnson outplays Miles Austin in a wild finish.

Sun., Oct. 10, 3:15 p.m. -- Titans at Cowboys (CBS)
Tim MacMahon: The Cowboys screwed up by passing on 2,000-yard rusher Chris Johnson in the 2008 draft, but one of the NFL's stingiest run defenses will prevent Johnson from making the Cowboys pay on this day.
Calvin Watkins: All Vince Young does is win games. It might not be pretty, but he leads the Titans to a late field goal to win. Chris Johnson and Felix Jones put on a show, but the defenses slow things down in the red zone.
Sun., Oct. 17, 3:15 p.m. -- Cowboys at Viking (Fox)
Tim MacMahon: This is assuming that Brett Favre returns. If that's the case, Keith Brooking will leave the Metrodome mad again.
Calvin Watkins: Keith Brooking gets his revenge, well sort of. He sacks Brett Favre, or whomever is at quarterback. But Jared Allen and the crowd noise get to the Cowboys' offensive line. Can't blame Flozell Adams on this one.
Mon., Oct. 25, 7:30 p.m. -- Giants at Cowboys (ESPN)
Calvin Watkins: A shootout at Cowboys Stadium. Tony Romo throws four touchdown passes and Felix Jones, who is now starting, rushes for a career-high 125 yards. A fourth-quarter Anthony Spencer sack seals the victory.
Sun., Oct. 31, noon -- Jaguars at Cowboys (CBS)
Tim MacMahon: The Jaguars ranked last in sacks by a long shot last season. If Romo has time, it's big trouble for the opponent.
Calvin Watkins: This game is over quickly. It's so bad that Jason Garrett stops calling plays for Miles Austin in the second half.
Sun., Nov. 7, 7:30 p.m. -- Cowboys at Packers (NBC)
Tim MacMahon: Jason Garrett won't let Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers dominate him again. Felix Jones will be a factor in this trip to Wisconsin.
Calvin Watkins: This game is not that close. the Cowboys rally late, but the Packers' secondary shuts down Miles Austin again.
Sun., Nov. 14, 3:15 p.m. -- Cowboys at Giants (Fox)
Tim MacMahon: The Giants won the final playoff game in Texas Stadium and the first game in Cowboys Stadium. They won't let the Cowboys celebrate after the rivals' first meeting in the new Meadowlands digs.
Calvin Watkins: The first meeting in the new stadium in the swamp goes to Big Blue. Chris Canty even plays. Stop the presses. Tony Romo can't escape the Giants' pass rush, and Wade Phillips' defense is beaten up.
Sun., Nov. 21, noon -- Lions at Cowboys (Fox)
Tim MacMahon: It won't be a happy homecoming for Highland Park product Matthew Stafford. But at least the Lions will get to laugh about ripping off Jerry in the Roy Williams deal.
Calvin Watkins: The Lions don't miss Roy Williams. In fact, the Lions miss Felix Jones and Miles Austin. They can't tackle them as Jones and Austin combine for four touchdowns.
Thu., Nov. 25, 3:15 p.m. -- Saints at Cowboys (Fox)
Tim MacMahon: The Saints get some revenge for the Cowboys' handing them their first loss last season at the Superdome. Drew Brees finishes a two-minute drill for a touchdown this time.
Calvin Watkins: Turnovers hurt the Cowboys down the stretch on Thanksgiving. Jerry Jones got his bottle of wine back from the Saints, but Sean Payton gets the last laugh here.
Sun., Dec. 5, 3:15 p.m. -- Cowboys at Colts (Fox)
Tim MacMahon: The Cowboys didn't fare so well the last time they faced a team that featured a Hall of Fame quarterback and elite pass-rushers in a dome. At least Peyton Manning won't run up the score.
Calvin Watkins: These are not the same Colts. Peyton Manning is going to get tired of seeing No. 94 in his chest.
Sun., Dec. 12, 7:20 p.m. -- Eagles at Cowboys (NBC)
Tim MacMahon: The Philadelphia offense isn't very potent when DeSean Jackson can't get buzzing. The Cowboys' cornerbacks won't let Jackson sting them.
Calvin Watkins: Playing at home is a comfort for the Cowboys. The defense sacks Kevin Kolb five times, Jason Witten has 10 catches, and the place is rocking.
Sun., Dec. 19, noon -- Redskins at Cowboys (Fox)
Tim MacMahon: Donovan McNabb couldn't win at Cowboys Stadium with the Eagles. That won't change now that he has a less talented supporting cast with the Redskins.
Calvin Watkins: If you thought Donovan McNabb was old, you were right. McNabb can't get away from the Cowboys' defense, and Miles Austin makes two big second-half plays to end a defensive struggle.
Sat., Dec. 25, 6:30 p.m. -- Cowboys at Cardinals (NFLN)
Tim MacMahon: Sean Morey, who blocked the punt and broke Mat McBriar's foot in overtime a couple of years ago, signed with Seattle. Oh, and Kurt Warner retired.
Calvin Watkins: Christmas in the desert won't be pretty. Felix Jones takes over, and DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer put a hurting on Matt Leinart.
Sun., Jan. 2, noon -- Cowboys at Eagles (Fox)
Tim MacMahon: You can't expect the Cowboys to sweep the Eagles in consecutive years, right? Brent Celek will beat Keith Brooking for the game-winning score.
Calvin Watkins: The Cowboys will sweep the Eagles in consecutive seasons. Jason Witten has a big game under the lights, and Terence Newman and Mike Jenkins each get a pick.
