Miami Dolphins majority owner Stephen Ross said he's looking into general manager Jeff Ireland's conduct regarding questions he asked Dallas Cowboys first-round draft pick Dez Bryant.

In a predraft interview, Ireland asked Bryant if his mother was a prostitute. Ireland apologized to the receiver Tuesday.

"Jeff Ireland has already apologized for questions asked of former Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant," Ross said in a statement. "I will be looking into this matter personally and will take appropriate actions if necessary."

Ross said he supports members of his organization and the interview process involving prospective draft picks. But some, including NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith, have questioned the tactics of some teams.

"In interviewing employees, we always look to obtain relevant and appropriate information in adherence with the best industry practices," Ross said.
