DeMarcus Ware: Jay Cutler beware
Ware, who suffered the injuries against the Washington Redskins on Sunday night, was listed as a limited participant in the practice. He should play this week against the Chicago Bears, coach Wade Phillips said Wednesday.
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was sacked four times last week, and Ware is ready to add to that total.
"Any offensive coordinator needs to worry about protection because we've got a lot of guys coming -- me, Bradie James, Keith Brooking, Anthony Spencer," Ware said. "That's what we do. We're a really good pass-rush team. We're going to be coming."
In other injury news, fullback Deon Anderson underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and will be out 2-4 weeks. Linebacker Sean Lee (hamstring) missed practice for the second consecutive day. Also, starters Marc Colombo (right tackle) and Kyle Kosier (left guard) practiced for the second consecutive day.
Anderson is expected to miss two to four weeks, Phillips said.
Colombo, who underwent arthroscopic surgery Aug. 16 to remove five loose particles from his right knee, said he "has every intention of playing this weekend" against the Bears.
"I just wanted to try and get back out there and get moving and hit some people," Colombo said. "We've been doing a lot of good rehab and working my leg and getting myself back to where I need to be, and I just needed to go out there and thud up with some people. That was an area of concern yesterday and I felt pretty good."
Kosier, who sat out the season opener with a sprained MCL suffered Aug. 18, avoided interviews Thursday. He'll also be in the starting lineup Sunday against Chicago.
"[Colombo] speaks on my behalf," Kosier cracked as the media left the locker room.
Colombo, who admits rushing back from a broken fibula and ankle surgery to play in the playoffs last season, said he was being more careful this season.
"Late in your career, you want to make sure you're 100 percent," Colombo said. "... This year I tried everything to get back for last week and it didn't work out. I'm hoping I can really help my team now."
