Wide receiver Roy Williams is questionable with a groin injury suffered this week in practice, and it doesn't look like he'll play.
Running back Marion Barber, who has missed the last two games with a calf injury, was limited in practice this week and isn't expected to participate against Washington.
Felix Jones will start in place of Barber.
Williams was unable to push off on a consistent basis during Friday's practice, but he did some work in walk-through sessions. He will, however, try to warmup before the game to see if he can get loose.
Sam Hurd, who has just eight catches this season, would probably start if Williams is unable to play. The Cowboys would also employ more sets with two tight ends with wide receiver Miles Austin in Williams' place.
The receiving corps has been depleted not only with the loss of Williams, the No. 2 receiver. Rookie wideout Dez Bryant, who has a team-leading six touchdown receptions, is out for the year with a fractured leg.
Without Williams or Bryant in the lineup, the Cowboys' most accomplished player at wideout is Austin, who became the full-time starter last year after Williams missed a game with a fractured rib.
The Cowboys called up Manuel Johnson from the practice squad this week to fill out the receiving unit. Johnson has never played in an NFL game.
