DALLAS -- Dallas Stars forward Steve Ott could return from an oblique muscle injury late next week, coach Marc Crawford said Wednesday.

Ott, who saw doctors Tuesday, has not skated since suffering the injury Sunday night.

Mike Modano was on the ice before Wednesday's morning skate. The next step is for Modano, who said he is feeling better as he recovers from a rib injury, to practice with the team. That could come in the next few days.

Mark Fistric will be scratched for Wednesday night's game against Nashville. Jeff Woywitka will be in the lineup.
