DALLAS -- Stars center Brad Richards will miss at least Monday's game against Los Angeles with a sore groin.
Richards did not skate Monday and won't skate Tuesday. Stars coach Marc Crawford said the team will wait to make any decision if Richards will play at Anaheim on Wednesday.
Coach Marc Crawford said Richards has been dealing with the groin since the season started, but the club thought it best that he rest the groin and see if it couldn't heal.
"It's been a case where he's been hurt, played with injury and played very well," Crawford said. "We just think this is the right course of action for Brad, and hopefully the days off will have him respond very favorably."
Richards' absence means Perttu Lindgren, who was called up from the AHL's Texas Stars, will likely play between James Neal and Loui Eriksson on the team's top line. Crawford said Tom Wandell and even Toby Petersen could see some time there as well.
Lindgren said he's expecting to play with Neal and Eriksson and is looking forward to the opportunity. He played with Neal some when both were in Iowa.
Steve Ott (oblique muscle) skated with the Stars on Tuesday, but won't play against Los Angeles. He hopes to play at some point during the road trip. Mike Modano (cracked rib) and Jere Lehtinen (intercostal muscle) did not skate Tuesday and likely will not make the trip.
