Dallas Stars center Mike Ribeiro was arrested Sunday on a charge of public intoxication in Plano, Texas.

Ribeiro was released at approximately 5:45 a.m. ET Monday.

"It's my personal life, and I'd like to keep it like that," Ribeiro said after participating in Monday's practice. "It's not a good situation, and I want to keep it personal right now and concentrate on hockey."

Ribeiro, 30, and three others were arrested after an altercation between patrons at RA Sushi Bar Restaurant, located at 7501 Lone Star Drive in Plano, Texas.

A police report described Ribeiro's eyes as bloodshot. Also arrested was Tammy Williams, 39, who was listed in the report as Ribeiro's spouse.

"I wish there were cameras there and you could have seen what happened," Ribeiro said. "I guess a lot of people would have a different opinion about what happened. I've cleared my mind of what happened, and I just want to put that behind today and look forward to tomorrow."

Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk said the team in looking into the incident.

"It's a matter that we as an organization take very seriously, especially when the police are involved," Nieuwendyk said. "We'll gather all the information and handle everything internally."

Ribeiro, who has three assists, scored the winning goal in a shootout to beat the New York Islanders 5-4 Saturday night, giving the Stars their first 2-0 start since 2006. He was acquired by the Stars in a trade with Montreal in 2008, played in 66 games last season, totaling 19 goals and 34 assists.

"We talked to Mike, and we just keep moving forward," Stars coach Marc Crawford said. "That's the best way to approach things. There's not much more that we can say about that."
