1:45 p.m. ET: I just finished speaking with Brewers general manager Doug Melvin. He said he was feeling pretty relaxed and that he slept well Tuesday night.
He called the Phillies a "pesky little team that can beat you both ways. They can beat you with the long ball and with the short ball."
He thought, other than Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins, perhaps one of the more dangerous players on the team was Jayson Werth.
"I think he's an underrated player," Melvin said of Werth.
He said he anticipates Milwaukee will be overflowing with enthusiasm once the series shifts to Milwaukee, the first time in 26 years the city will host a postseason game.
"It reminds me of when I was in Texas and they hadn't made the postseason in 25 years," Melvin said. "Then we made it three out of the next four years [1996-99]."
As for Brewers fans, "they don't need a reason to party but they'll be ready," he said.
Melvin added there was no hesitation in starting Yovani Gallardo in Game 1, because of his poise and ability to not be rattled. Melvin said Gallardo is wise beyond his years. And that he reminded him of Mike Mussina, who always held his emotions in check.

1:13 p.m. ET: Phillies trainer Scott Sheridan just reported that Pat Burrell has a lower back strain, which he suffered on his last swing in the batting cage Tuesday. Burrell took batting practice and will play today.

12:35 p.m. ET: It's a beautiful day here in Philadelphia, about 70 degrees or so. Does not feel like October. The early news of this morning is that Pat Burrell is on the postseason roster. So whatever happened with his back yesterday has not prevented him from playing in the series.
The Phillies pitchers are out right now taking batting practice and practicing bunting. Gotta love 45-year-old Jamie Moyer getting in there and still working on the fundamentals.
I also just spoke to Phillies bench coach Jimy Williams. He watched Tuesday night's Twins-White Sox game and said it reminded him of when he was with the Braves in 1991 when they lost to the Twins in Game 7 of the World Series.
Williams also said the most important part of advance scouting reports is looking at the opposing team's tendencies.
"But we just saw [the Brewers] last week," Williams said.
