If the Astros have Miguel Tejada on the trading block, the Dominican shortstop didn't know it.

"I didn't know anything about that. Nobody has told me anything that I could be traded," Tejada, reached by telephone at his Florida home, told ESPNdeportes.com.

Several reports on Monday indicated that the Astros were willing to move Tejada and other players to shed their payroll. Tejada, 34, will earn $13 million in 2009, the last year of the $72 million contract that he signed with Baltimore before the 2004 season.

"I was not really aware of the rumors," Tejada said.
