Baylor clawing back

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Baylor's offense has come alive, enabling it to stay close as Texas has a 57-55 lead with 6:09 left.

The Longhorns weathered a big scare when Dexter Pittman fell and jostled with Baylor's Josh Lomers in the paint. Pittman appeared to tweak his right knee and appeared in great pain. The injury seemed to affect him as he missed both foul shots.

Baylor has climbed back in the second half with strong shooting, hitting nine of its first 14 shots. The Bears have also done a nice job getting Kevin Rogers involved and the result has been a game-high 17 points.

The key for the Bears down the stretch will be to get their guards operating from set plays. They haven't done that in the last couple of trips down the court.

And Baylor center Mamadou Diene just picked up his fourth foul. Both of Baylor's big players have four fouls. I'd look for Rick Barnes to get Pittman involved, even though he's been shut out so far in the second half.
