Scripps Ranch (San Diego, Calif.) running back Brennan Clay became the third back from the Golden State to earn an offer from Oklahoma.

Oklahoma is one of the few schools that is able to recruit nationally, so for the Sooners to offer three backs from California shows what an incredible year it is at the running back position in the state.

The Sooners had earlier offered Corona's (Calif.) Jordon James and Oaks Christian's (Westlake Village, Calif.) Malcolm Jones.

"I was hyped to get the offer from Oklahoma," Clay said. "That's a big-time school and I'm definitely planning to take an official visit there in the fall. Right now, I know where four of my visits will be and I have one date set.

"I'm going to Michigan (Sept. 18) when they play Eastern Michigan. I'm also going to visit Oregon, Georgia and Oklahoma and I'm keeping that fifth visit open right now. I'm also going to take unofficial visits in June to Stanford and Cal and all of those schools have offered me."

Clay was the RB MVP at the SoCal Nike Camp a few weeks back and his stock has been climbing rapidly since the spring evaluation period kicked off.

West Notes
• Narbonne (Harbor City, Calif.) defensive back Bryan Douglas landed his second scholarship offer from San Diego State. Boise State was the first to offer Douglas. Douglas had a solid showing at the SoCal Nike Camp and is establishing himself as one of the state's top cover corners.

• Cathedral (San Diego, Calif.) offensive lineman Alex Crosthwaite landed another Pac-10 offer from Washington State. Arizona, Arizona State, San Diego State and Minnesota all previously offered the talented guard prospect.

Andrew Hudson (Redlands, Calif./ Redlands East Valley) has five offers on the table with San Diego State being the most recent there. Hudson, a likely defensive end at the next level, had previous offers from Fresno State, Washington, Oregon State and Arizona State.
