LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Vanderbilt is playing like it's not ready to go home yet, while Indiana is struggling again on the big stage.
The Commodores' Brian Harris hit a leadoff home run against Matt Bashore in the bottom of the first inning. Jonathan White followed with a triple and scored on a groundout, and Vandy led 2-0 just like that.
In the third inning, Bashore had White picked off between second and third, but his throw to third baseman Vince Gonzalez was wild. White scored for a 3-0 Vanderbilt lead, which is where we are after four innings. Indiana has committed four errors in 13 innings of NCAA tournament play, and all of them have led to runs.
Vanderbilt starter Sonny Gray has allowed just three singles, and his defense has turned three double plays.
