BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Box is packed with LSU faithful, but it doesn't seem to matter. The Tigers, despite their overwhelming home-field advantage, have been very kind to the visiting Owls, allowing two unearned runs with one very costly error that put Rice up 2-0 on one hit in the second inning.

Rice third baseman Anthony Rendon doubled to deep center, and Chad Mozingo followed with a ground ball, fielder's choice to pitcher Anthony Ranaudo, who tried to catch Rendon in a rundown. A throwing error by shortstop Austin Nola sailed into the Rice dugout, though, and gave the Owls the 1-0 lead. Michael Fuda hit a sacrifice fly, bringing in Mozingo.

The Tigers might have the fans behind them, but so far, the Owls own the scoreboard.
