There were no "must get" prospects in attendance at Notre Dame's camp on Tuesday according to IrishSportsDaily.com's Steve Wiltfong.
However, that doesn't mean Charlie Weis and his staff were not on the lookout for potential future Irish players.
ESPNU 150 Watch List linebacker Aramide Olaniyan (Woodberry Forest, Va.) worked out at Notre Dame yesterday and hopes his performance eventually earns him a scholarship offer from Weis. Olaniyan remains committed to Duke, but an offer from the Irish would at least give Olaniyan cause to think things over.
Olaniyan's teammate, defensive back Ed Reynolds, also attended Notre Dame's one-day camp on Tuesday. Reynolds has scholarship offers from Duke, Stanford, North Carolina State, North Carolina and Virginia, and hopes to add one from Notre Dame.
Defensive lineman Beau Allen (Minnetonka, Minn.) headed to Notre Dame's camp with scholarship offers from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Stanford, UCLA and Vanderbilt in his back pocket. He has not yet received an offer from the Fighting Irish, but hopes his performance at Notre Dame's camp leads to one.
Another defensive lineman working out at Notre Dame on Tuesday, Bruce Gaston (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita), hopes to add the Irish to his list of scholarship offers. That list includes Illinois, Michigan State, Iowa, Purdue, Indiana, Arizona, Wyoming and a host of MAC schools.
Bolden addresses rumors
Rumors have circulated that ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback Robert Bolden (Orchard Lake, Mich./St. Mary's) might commit to Penn State today. While Joe Paterno seems to stand a pretty good chance of landing Bolden, the star signal-caller says he is probably not quite ready to announce a decision.
"I probably won't decide in the next day or so, I doubt it," Bolden said on Tuesday night. "Hopefully I'll get it over with before the (football) season."
Bolden has 23 scholarship offers including Penn State, Michigan State, Oregon, Louisville, Michigan, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Nebraska and Northwestern.
However, Joe Boisture (Saline, Mich.) recently changed his commitment from Boston College to Michigan State, and the Spartans are expected to sign just one quarterback this recruiting season. Devin Gardner (Inkster, Mich.) has committed to Michigan and Bolden is not seriously considering the Wolverines.
Penn State is considered the leader for Bolden's services over Louisville and Oregon.
Talbot in no rush
Defensive lineman Terry Talbot (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) has seen his scholarship offer list steadily grow over the past two months. Talbot has 17 offers including Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Purdue, UCLA, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Arkansas and North Carolina State.
The 6-foot-3 and 260-pound Talbot visited Wisconsin and attended Ohio State's football camp in June.
Talbot has no intention of picking a college during the summer. He says he hasn't even begun to narrow his list down.
"I'm going to wait it out," Talbot said. "I'm not going to make an early commitment. I'm going to wait until the football season is over before I pick a college."
Talbot made close to 50 tackles including five sacks during his junior season.
