The Houston Cougars snagged a commitment from three-star receiver
Jordan Jolly (Missouri City, Texas/Elkins) in July. At the time, the 6-foot-1, 170-pounder picked the Cougars over offers from Kansas, Purdue, Nebraska, Baylor and Utah.
Now a couple of months removed from making a commitment, Jolly said he plans to make visits.
"I think I'm going to take a visit to Baylor and then Kansas. Those are the main two. I'll probably be done after that, but I'm still thinking about Arkansas. I don't have the dates set yet," Jolly said.
The first program to get Jolly on campus, however, will be Houston.
"I'm still committed to Houston," he said. "I like the way UH works their offense. I see big things for them. I'll probably take my official visit to Houston in a couple of weeks. We play on Saturday, but I may go after practice on Friday."
And it will take some work to get Jolly to de-commit from the Cougars.
"Really, I'm not sure the other schools can change my mind. They would have to blow me away," he said.
The Cougars are riding high after a 45-35 upset victory over Oklahoma State in Stillwater September 12. Houston is ranked 17th in the AP poll and 23rd in the coaches poll.
Whichever program eventually signs the talented receiver will have to deal with the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. Jolly, on outfielder whom his coaches say could be selected in the top three rounds, has already been asked to take physicals by MLB teams, which is a sign that he is very highly thought of on the diamond.
"If I'm a top three round pick, I'll probably go baseball," Jolly said. "If not, then I want to play football and baseball in college."
Jolly has 23 receptions for 407 yards and seven touchdowns through three games. He hauled in 35 passes for 682 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior.
