9:42 p.m. ETThe Elias Sports Bureau is responsible for producing fantastic, insightful notes all throughout the regular season and postseason. But one I came across tonight I think is by far my favorite ever.
Here is the note, in its entirety: The managers in this series are both eligible to collect Social Security benefits (Joe Torre is 69, Charlie Manuel is 65). It's the first time that both managers in a League Championship Series or World Series were at least 65 years old.
I know that may not really lend any insight into the game or this series, but it was something I had not really thought of until now.
