5:05 p.m. ET• With a win over the Angels in tonight's game, the Yankees would clinch their 40th World Series berth. With a win tonight and also in Game 7 on Monday, the Angels would clinch their second trip to the Fall Classic.
• The Yankees will play their 26th Game 6 in postseason history tonight. They're 15-10 in their previous 25 games.
• The Angels will play their third Game 6 in postseason history tonight. They're 1-1 in their previous two games.
• Tonight's game will mark the 10th time in Andy Pettitte's career that he's pitched in the postseason with the Yankees one win from wrapping up a series. In those previous nine games, Pettitte is 4-2 with a 4.30 ERA. Pettitte also has 15 career postseason victories, tying him with John Smoltz for the record. Pettitte received a no-decision in the Yankees' 5-4, 11-inning loss to the Angels in Game 3 on Monday.
• Angels left-hander Joe Saunders will make his third career postseason start tonight and his second in this year's playoffs. He earned a no-decision in the Angels' 4-3, 13-inning loss to the Yankees in Game 2 on Oct. 17.
