6:50 p.m. ETChone Figgins accumulated 615 at-bats out of the leadoff spot this season, and Maicer Izturis ranked second on the Angels' roster with 10 ABs out of the No. 1 spot. So Angels manager Mike Scioscia is understandably hesitant to make a change, even though Figgins is batting .065 (2-for-31) in the postseason.
Figgins was still in the leadoff spot Sunday night against Andy Pettitte. He's a career .286 hitter (6-for-21) against Pettitte.
"He's not fazed by it,'' Scioscia said when asked about Figgins' playoff travails. "He knows his game. He's about as good as there is as a leadoff man in our league.''
Figgins ranked second in the American League with 114 runs scored this season, and reached base 285 times -- second best in the AL behind Derek Jeter. He is also the only active major leaguer to steal 30 or more bases in each of the last six seasons.
