It's time once again to make educated guesses on where the top-five prospects in the Southeast will be attending college. If you look at this list and consider what could happen if this plays out this way, then Florida State, despite having a lot of turmoil surrounding the future of legendary coach Bobby Bowden, will have had a tremendous recruiting haul for the 2010 cycle with multiple elite players.
This is a credit to the Seminoles staff, in particular the assistant coaches like recruiting coordinator James Coley, offensive line coach Rick Trickett, offensive coordinator /head coach in-waiting Jimbo Fisher, defensive line coach Odell Haggins and others. Faced with all sorts of adversity, this staff has placed the Noles in position to have an excellent class despite a picture of instability, which is the one thing that can quickly kill a recruiting effort.
National Signing Day (Feb. 3, 2010) is more than two months away, though. There is plenty that could happen between now and then.
