Teddy Ballgame made Fenway memories

"Williams is the most competent man I've ever met in my life. He's the best fisherman I've ever fished with, he was the best jet pilot, he was the best hitter. He wanted to be not only good, but great at it," says broadcaster Curt Gowdy about Ted Williams, on ESPN Classic's SportsCentury series.

Ted Williams wanted to be known as the greatest hitter who ever lived. When he failed to meet those expectations, pity anything that got in his way.
