STOCK UP

• The U. S. men's and women's basketball teams each won gold medals.

• Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh won the gold in beach volleyball. The American men's team of Dallhauser and Rogers also captured gold.

• Jamaica's Usain Bolt shattered two more world records at the Olympics. He finished with three gold medals.

• The U. S. women's soccer team also won gold, beating Brazil in the championship game.

• American Bryan Clay won the decathlon.

• Brandon Webb won his 19th game.

• Rams running back Stephen Jackson has over $44 million reasons to be happy!

• The Tampa Bay Rays won four of six games against the Angels and White Sox.

STOCK DOWN

• A Cuban athlete kicked a taekwondo referee in the head, leading to permanent suspension from the Olympics. His coach was also banned for life after failing to apologize for the incident.

• A Ukranian was stripped of her silver medal in the heptathlon due to doping.

• The U.S. men's and women's 4x100 relay teams both failed to advance after dropping the baton.

• U.S. women's softball was upset by Japan in the championship game.

• Red Sox Pitcher Clay Bucholz, who threw a no-hitter a year ago, was sent to the minors.
