STOCK UP

•East Carolina scored its second straight big win. Following up on last week's upset of Virginia Tech, Skip Holtz and company knocked off West Virginia.

•The Dodgers and Blue Jays have both won eight straight games.

•Brett Favre won in his debut with the Jets.

•Donovan McNabb had a huge game in leading the Eagles past the Rams.

•Michael Turner ran for over 200 yards in his debut for the Falcons, a win over Detroit.

•The Cowboys were very impressive in a win at Cleveland.

•Congrats to the 2008 class of the Basketball Hall of Fame. I was so honored to be included with this outstanding group.

•Serena Williams won her third US Open women's title, beating Jelena Jankovic in two tough sets.

STOCK DOWN

•Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur used poor judgment in getting thrown out of the NBA rookie transition program.

•The Chargers were stunned at home by Carolina. The loss came when the Panthers completed a touchdown pass on the final play of the game.

•Penn State suspended three players following an incident where marijuana was found in a room.

•Arkansas' football program struggled again, barely getting past Western Illinois and Louisiana-Monroe in Bobby Petrino's first two games.
