There will be a lot of interest in the Arizona head coaching job now that Lute Olson has announced his retirement.

If I was Arizona Athletic Director Jim Livengood I would pick up the phone and give Kevin O'Neill a call.

O'Neill has a history with the school...he served as a first lieutenant as the Wildcats built up the program and he was interim head coach last season when Olson was ill.

He is a coach with a wealth of experience in both college and the NBA. Kevin O'Neill eats, sleeps and drinks basketball. He is an outstanding man when it comes to teaching X's and O's.

I really believe that he would be interested if contacted. He is currently an NBA assistant but would be a good fit in Tucson.
