Stock Watch: Bama up, Tennessee down

STOCK UP

Alabama remained number one by edging LSU in an overtime thriller.

Texas Tech had an impressive showing in a win over Oklahoma State.

Tony Parker became the third player in NBA history to have at least 55 points and 10 assists in the same game; he joined elite company as Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson were the other two to accomplish that feat.

Jerry Sloan collected his 1000th NBA coaching win. He has picked all of them up with the Jazz, the first coach in league history to win 1000 games all with the same team.

Chris Paul is off to a great start this season, posting six straight games with 20+ points and 10+ assists.

The Titans remained unbeaten with a win at Chicago.

The Colts got a great W at Pittsburgh.

Ball State's football team remained unbeaten by blowing out Northern Illinois. Utah rallied to edge TCU to stay unbeaten as well.

Virginia Tech tailback Darren Evans rushed for a school-record 253 yards in a win over Maryland. It was his first career 100-yard rushing game.

Joe Calzaghe beat Roy Jones Jr. in their light heavyweight bout in New York.

STOCK DOWN

DeAngelo Hall was let go by the Raiders. Oakland dealt a second-round pick to Atlanta to acquire his services. Hall ended up signing with the Redskins.

Tennessee's football nightmare continued as the Vols were shocked at home by Wyoming.

Penn State's chances for a national title disappeared after a loss at Iowa.

Jared Allen of the Vikings was fined $50,000 for low hits.

The Lions remained winless with a loss to Jacksonville.

The Washington Wizards are off to an 0-5 start.
