Dickie V's awards from Thursday night's action

PLAYER OF THE NIGHT: J.T. Tiller, Missouri.

He came in averaging eight points per game. He finished with 23 against Memphis, hitting 10-of-16 from the field in a 102-91 upset over John Calipari's team.

TEAM OF THE NIGHT: Missouri.

The Tigers shot over 53 percent en route to the win over Memphis. Mike Anderson's team takes on Connecticut next.

COACH OF THE NIGHT: Jay Wright, Villanova.

His Wildcats scored a 77-54 win over Duke. That was the worst tournament loss suffered by the Blue Devils since the famed 30-point blowout by UNLV.

SHOCK OF THE NIGHT: Villanova and Missouri's margins.

Both teams were very impressive in beating higher-seeded opponents.
